Kristin Erickson
Kristin Grace Erickson received her Master's of Fine Arts degree in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College in 2008. Trained as a classical pianist and composer, Kristin switched her focus from piano performance to computer music composition as an undergraduate and completed her B.A. at Mills College in 2000.
As a member of the digital duo Blectum From Blechdom, Bevin Kelley and Kristin Erickson experimented with rhythmic electronic improvisation, characterized by malfunction, malformation, absurdist mythologies and a costume built for two. Constructing pieces with samplers, synthesizers and self-authored sequencers built in Max/MSP, Blectum From Blechdom won second prize in Digital Music at Ars Electronica in 2001 for their album The Messy Jesse Fiesta.
Under the pseudonym Kevin Blechdom, Kristin Erickson’s solo project combines computer music, video, autobiographical songwriting, performance art, voice, banjo, and piano. She has released over ten albums and EP's as Kevin Blechdom and has toured throughout America and Europe for the past decade.
Kristin is currently writing and performing musical multi-media theater and multi-track a cappella videos.
