Alex holds an MFA in Film/Video from CalArts, and a BS in Communications (Motion Pictures) and Art from the University of Miami. He has shown film/video work at Light Matter Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, San Diego Underground Film Festival, and Antimatter Media Art. He regularly programs film screenings in Los Angeles, has presented scholarly work on montage theory at the Film-Philosophy Conference, and has conducted interviews with cinematographers, composers, and colorists for Mubi Notebook. He was a 2023 Reef resident, which culminated in a solo exhibition at The Reef in downtown Los Angeles. At CalArts, he is the Digital Video Manager in Film & Image Services, and occasional Special Faculty in Film/Video. He lives in Piru.
