Brittney Brady

Brittney Brady is a theatre artist from the humid Gulf Coast of Florida. In 2012, she co-founded Ghostbird Theatre Company, an ensemble of artists dedicated to producing new and site-inspired performances. Since moving to the desert of California, she has received her MFA in Directing from CalArts. Her work has been seen at the Walt Disney Modular Theatre and REDCAT.

She is currently working on a series of international performance/installation projects, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Beginning in her hometown of southwest Florida, One Island travels along the International Appalachian Trail, an ancient mountain range that runs through North America, crosses the Atlantic to England and Ireland, and then terminates in Northern Africa. With a steady awareness of deep time, the work walks in circles, crosses borders, falls over itself, backtracks, seeking to unearth what the landscape may be able to tell us about our histories and our future at this moment.
