Daniel Corral is a composer and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Eagle River, Alaska. Currently living in Los Angeles, his unique voice finds outlet in accordion orchestras, puppet operas, handmade music boxes, electronics, site-specific installations, chamber music, post-punk opera, and inter-disciplinary collaborations.

Corral’s music has been commissioned and presented by venues such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Joe’s Pub NYC, REDCAT, Reykjavik Harpa Concert Hall, HERE Arts Center, Miami Light Project, Operadagen Rotterdam, The Hammer Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art, USC’s Thornton School of Music, The Center for New Music, CSUN’s Mike Curb College of Arts, Pianospheres Series, Automata Los Angeles, Machine Project, SASSAS, The Wulf, Pasadena All Saints Choir, The Santa Monica GLOW Festival, and the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts.

Corral is composer and keyboardist for Timur and The Dime Museum (TDM). TDM recently gave the New York premiere of Corral’s COLLAPSE, a theatrical song-cycle about the environmental catastrophes caused by humans, at BAM Fisher. He also directs experimental accordion orchestra, Free Reed Conspiracy.

Corral has collaborated with artists such as Anne LeBaron, Vicki Ray, Charles Gaines, Stephen Prina, Wild Up, Isaura String Quartet, Formalist String Quartet, Opera Povera, Yakima Chamber Symphony, The Industry, LA Electric 8, California EAR Unit, Kairos String Quartet, Bo Sul Kim, Daron Hagen, Pasadena All Saints Choir, Cudamani, and Sojourn Theatre.

Residencies include APPEX, Bali; Marin Headlands Center for the Arts; and I-Park Foundation. He received his MFA from Calarts, where he studied composition with James Tenney and Anne LeBaron. His first solo CD, Diamond Pulses, was released on Orenda Records in 2015.
