A native of Amman, Jordan, Sevim Abaza is a Production Manager, Designer, and educator with a career spanning multiple disciplines. Throughout the past decade she has designed and managed over 500 productions, ranging from black box theatre and contemporary dance to technology conferences and national festivals.

Now based in Los Angeles, Sevim was previously the Technical Director of The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse, a multi space art complex in Miami, FL, and the Production Manager for Miami Light Project, a not for profit organization that presents live performances by celebrated dance, music, visual and theater artists from around the world.

During her tenure at Miami Light Project, Sevim created and directed the Technical Fellowship Program, which addressed the need for professional production development among emerging choreographers, designers, and technicians. Sevim has been a member of Actor's Equity since 2007 and has worked in design, production, and management for such organizations as Art Basel Miami Beach, New World Symphony, National YoungArts Foundation, The London Philharmonia Orchestra, The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Miami Theatre Center, and The City of Miami. She has had the pleasure of working with innovative choreographers, musicians, and artists including Nora Chipaumire, Kota Yamazaki, Michael Tilson Thomas, Tarell McCraney, Teo Castellanos, The Tiger Lillies, Reggie Watts, Thaddeus Phillips, and David Zambrano.

Sevim is the recipient of the 2009 Carbonell Award for Best Lighting Design, The Miami New Times Best Lighting Design 2008, and The Miami SunPost Best Lighting Design in both 2007 and 2009. Additionally, she is the founder of a production management collective, Kilhür Creative, that focuses on sustainable production and design for art installations, performing artists, and tours.
