Teresina Mosco was born in Pasadena, California and received dance training locally from an early age. She studied with Bella Lewitzky, Donald McKayle, and Mia Slavenska in the first year of California Institute of the Arts. She then went on to Monte Carlo where she studied at the Ecole de Danse Classique with Marika Besobrasova in the Vagonova style. She was a professional dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet and worked with Glen Tetley, Kenneth McMillan, John Neumeier, William Forsythe, and Jiri Kylian; she also danced the classics. After 8 years with the Stuttgart Ballet and the opening year with the new Ballet Clasico Nacional of Spain, she joined Nederlands Dans Theater with artistic director Jirí Kylián. At NDT, she danced in most of Kylián’s major works and had work created on her. Teresina feels privileged to have worked with the most gifted contemporary choreographers and to have danced the classics. She believes in Ballet Technique as the foundation for all dance training, whether or not one’s focus will be to dance Classical Ballet.
