Nina Flagg

Nina Flagg

Nina Flagg is a California native who attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

After obtaining her B.A. in Sociology from UCLA in 2001, she went on to tour as a principal dancer with the Philadelphia based Hip-Hop dance company Rennie Harris Puremovement.

In 2007, Nina began working with renowned dancer and choreographer Toni Basil as an assistant choreographer for Bette Midler's Las Vegas show entitled, The Showgirl Must Go On. In 2008, Nina continued on as a part of Basil's creative team for Tina Turner's World Tour.

Nina has been on faculty and served as a guest choreographer for the dance departments of UCLA, Connecticut College, Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and Bennington College (VT). She has worked with such artists as Prince, Tina Turner, Bette Midler, Stevie Wonder, Will Smith, Chris Brown, J Balvin, and Tamar Braxton. Her choreography has been featured on the Grammy Awards, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the TV Land Awards. Her television appearances include The 63rd Annual Academy Awards, The Today Show, and Good Morning America.

In 2015, Nina joined Bette Midler’s Divine Intervention Tour as Assistant Choreographer and Private Dance Coach to Ms. Midler, followed by a return to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre as Rehearsal Director and Assistant Choreographer for Rennie Harris’ latest ballet entitled Exodus.

In Spring 2016, Nina joined the Connecticut College Dance department as a visiting professor of Hip Hop Dance. She recently joined the faculty of the CalArts Dance Department as an instructor of both Contemporary Dance and Hip Hop Dance technique.
