Melissa Piekaar is a costume fabricator specializing in stop-motion and puppetry. She has worked for Chiodo Brothers Studios, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Screen Novelties, Apartment D, Starburns Industries, Studio Acho, and Alterian, Inc. Since receiving her MFA from CalArts (Experimental Animation, 2012) she has worked on television shows (Robot Chicken, Supermansion, Buddy Thunderstruck, TripTank) feature films (Anomalisa, Sextuplets) and commercials (Denny’s, Madden 16, Mattel) as well as independent films by local artists. Melissa was lead costumer on the film Anomalisa, and her work on the Adult Swim show Robot Chicken has earned her two Emmy certificates.
