Sarahjeen Francois

Sarahjeen François is a performer and playwright whose creative work is an exploration of the Afro-mythic which participates in the rich, cultural practices derived from traditional and contemporary African storytelling. Her artistic endeavors have led her to work with The Atlantic Center for the Arts, Emory University, Netflix, QCODE Media, Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum, CalArts Center for New Performance, Teatro Línea de Sombra, and Horizon Theatre Company among others.

A Core Apprentice alum of The Playwrights’ Center, Sarahjeen’s newest play, Sister, Braid My Hair has recently had its world premiere as part of the 2022 REDCAT NOW Festival and was voted the Large Ensemble Audience Choice Award winner in the 2022 Atlanta Fringe Festival.
