Diane Shaw is the CalArts Library’s Technical Processing Manager. She oversees the cataloging and processing of all acquisitions for the Library’s collections. Wielding the power of metadata, Diane makes all of the Library’s materials more readily and easily discoverable and accessible by correcting, enhancing, and even creating bibliographic records of various types. She also provides guidance surrounding the physical protection, storage, and maintenance of materials in order to prolong their expected shelf life and use. In her spare time, Diane enjoys reading and going to the movies, and she is an avid collector of both library-themed t-shirts and Funko Pop! figurines (of which she has an impressive display in her on-campus office). Additionally, Diane is an enthusiastic L.A. Kings and Dodgers fan, regularly tuning in to the broadcasts of their games.
