Alexi Gehring

Alexi Carol Gehring earned her MFA, Film/Video in 2003, and her BFA in Photography, Film/Video in 2000, at the California Institute of the Arts. Before her return to art school, she had a successful career in the publishing industry in New York with Condé Nast Publications as Advertising Production Director overseeing a production staff on all magazines, while exclusively handling VOGUE magazine. Gehring also worked as a fashion photographer for the annual collections.

Post graduation, Gehring’s photography and video production company, CEG Studio continues to work with clients in the television and film industry, entertainment, fashion, architectural firms, museums, educational institutions, and non-profits, creating promotional campaigns for product advertising, branding, marketing, and conceptual content development, and in the Arts: dance, theater, performance and music.

Currently, Gehring works at Cal Arts for the School of Film Video as Assistant Video Engineer, and with the Technology Group.

Gehring spent 12 years as board president for the Los Angeles based dance company, Trip Dance Theater, as video artist and videographer for the company, and continues to work as a fine arts photographer and experimental video artist exhibiting nationally and internationally.
