Myron Emery works as an experimental motion graphic filmmaker, currently creating projects focusing on linkage methodologies between hybrid imaging and experimental narrative film structures.
Myron received his bachelor's degree in 1969 from Chouinard Art Institute and his master's degree in 1972 from CalArts.
He freelanced as director, cinematographer, editor on documentary and educational films in Los Angeles and for several year was senior filmmaker at public television station WTVI before returning to academia. During his tenure at California Institute of the Arts he has held the positions of Faculty, Director of the Program in Experimental Animation and Dean of the Film/Video School.
Myron's international experience includes teaching workshops for students in France and Taiwan. He has conducted conferences for teachers in Spain, France, China and the USA.
His award-winning documentaries God with a Green Face and Pat O'Neill, experimental films Cumulonimbus, Deca-Dance, Photo Flow and X-Streams have received awards at several international film festivals.
