Aycil Yeltan is an actor, writer, director, and film producer and a recipient of Artist Initiative FY 2020 Grantees for a stage production of Folk Tales & 4 Hands Piano. Yeltan’s recent film TOPANGA collected many awards from Global Film Competitions and International Film Festivals, including Audience Awards in Best Film and Best Actress categories. She also served as a Juror at the International Film Festival in Ireland. She has appeared in numerous stage, film, and TV productions in Istanbul, NYC, and Los Angeles.
Early on, she earned her degrees in Music and Theater from State Conservatories in Turkey. Aycil portrayed many significant roles as a member of the Dormen Theater Company in Istanbul. She toured the entire country with the company. After collaborating with diverse artists on many theater projects in NYC, she moved to Los Angeles and earned her MFA in Acting from the CalArts School of Theater.
Currently, Aycil is in pre-production stage on her debut feature film project to set in rural Turkey. Yeltan continues her acting career in independent film productions in the USA and internationally. She also is pursuing a career in filmmaking.
As faculty at CalArts, Aycil teaches BFA3 Acting Studio with a focus on innovative methods and on-camera acting.
